Leading chefs from Cumbria will be showing customers of Lakeland’s flagship store at Windermere how to incorporate Grasmere Gingerbread® into five favoured recipes.
Using kitchen equipment supplied by Lakeland, chefs Martin Frickel, John Crouch, Pat Russell, Karen Healy and Ben Donkin will host monthly in-store cookery demonstrations from August through to December.
Down the years, many of our customers have sent us recipes that incorporate Grasmere Gingerbread®,” said Joanne Hunter, co-owner of the 168-year-old historic business.
“So we thought it would be a fantastic idea to challenge some of our region’s most accomplished chefs to create a series of unique dishes.
“I think they have invented some amazing recipes and I can’t wait to try them.
“It will be great to renew our association with Lakeland as during Storm Desmond in 2016 - which seriously affected footfall to our shop in Grasmere - they welcomed our pop-up shop at their store.”
The monthly series begins on Thursday 18th August with Martin Frickel.
On October 13th, we will welcome Pat Russell from The Lake District School of Food and Wine.
Karen Healy will be in residence on Thursday November 17th with Ben Donkin on Thursday December 8th.
All five chefs are keeping their selection of sweet and savoury dishes under wraps until their demonstrations.
“We are so excited to be hosting this series of in store demos in our Windermere Flagship store in collaboration with Grasmere Gingerbread®,” said Bethany Stebbens, PR Executive for Lakeland. “We are very proud of our Lake District heritage so it is great to be able to deliver this series with such an iconic Cumbrian brand.”
All the chef demonstrations, which are free to attend, will last approximately half an hour and begin at 2.30pm.
Customers will be given free tasters. Whilst it is a standing event seats will be provided for those who need them.
