Native to the Lake District, fell ponies are an endearing sight roaming the national park’s fells and rough pastures. Our Grasmere Gingerbread® Fell Pony is a shaggy-maned delight with a slightly unkempt ‘just got up in the morning’ appearance. Having long roamed the hills of old Cumberland and Westmorland, these sturdy animals perfectly suit their terrain. Our latest collectible is hand-stitched from a wool felt blend in the north of England and includes a saddlebag displaying Sarah Nelson’s famous Grasmere Gingerbread® trademark. £1 from every purchase will be donated to the Fell Pony Society, of which the late Queen Elizabeth II was Patron, and which is committed to preserving this pure breed for generations to come.
The Cumbrian Fell Pony Society's aim is to foster and keep pure the old breed of pony which has roamed the northern fells for years and to circulate knowledge and general information about the pony breed. The society celebrates its century year, with Her Majesty The Queen being the Patron of the charity.
