The Lake District Road Show showcases the region as a day-trip, short break and holiday destination. You will get to meet industry professionals from the region who can offer advice, discuss travel plans and provide material for places to stay, things to see and do, adventure tourism, culture, heritage and food and drink. We will be supporting this roadshow with the giving out of tasters and vouchers for Grasmere Gingerbread. e

Also, maybe an appearance from a famous rabbit… or the chance to try the climbing wall…

Vintage Producers Market
Thursday 5th August
Penrith (Town Centre), Cumbria

Vintage Penrith Week runs from Friday 30th July to Friday 6th August and comprises a multitude of events suitable for all age groups. 
As part of the celebrations a Traditional Farmers Market, showcasing the best of local produce and that of course includes Grasmere Gingerbread, will be held on Thursday 5th August 2010 from 10am to 4pm.

This annual events has been held for over 200 years and is still going strong. The 2010 show is likely to attract over 25,000 people.  It boasts exciting and fascinating shows of cattle, sheep, horses, goats, alpacas and poultry.

There will be at least 350 trade stands and a varied programme of rural entertainment including brass bands and Cumberland and Westmorland Wrestling.  Other attractions include craft marquees and a food hall where we will be located.

Apple Day
Acorn Bank Garden and Watermill, Temple Sowerby, Nr Penrith, Cumbria
Sunday 17th October

Apple Day is a national event that takes place annually in mid-October all over the country as a celebration of the English apple, with activities and entertainment for all the family.

In Cumbria, Apple Day is held at Acorn Bank, with apple games, advice on growing apples, storytelling, Punch & Judy, Music, dance and demonstrations in pruning, cookery and country crafts.  A large number of different varieties of apple are available to buy and to sample, and you are welcome to bring your own apples to be identified (advance notice is preferred).

Ulverston Dickensian Market
Ulverston, Cumbria
Saturday 27th November and Sunday 28th November
This annual Christmas Festival is a wonderful free event for all the family and marks the beginning of the Christmas shopping season. As well as the Christmas market with its stalls of gifts and food, including of course The Grasmere Gingerbread Stand. You can enjoy entertainment including a traditional fairground, music from folk and brass bands and a horse-drawn procession. This event has gain a great reputation and people now come from far and wide!
