TV chef Annette Gibbons is passionate about Cumbrian produce and organic
food. She first approached the Grasmere Gingerbread Shop several years ago
when she wanted ‘crumbs’ for a recipe in a cookery demonstration.
Joanne was then invited to appear in an episode of her TV cookery
programme ‘Homegrown’ where she concocted a delicious Rhubarb &
Grasmere Gingerbread Cheesecake. “Since then we have developed a great
rapport and Annette is a terrific supporter of our product and Cumbrian
food in general,” says Joanne. “She even introduced Prince Andrew to
Grasmere Gingerbread and he wrote to say how much he had enjoyed it,”
she adds.
In
2006 Annette was voted Cumbria Woman of the Year - an annual event which
the Grasmere Gingerbread Shop has co-sponsored for the last three years.
